RADARSAT Data

Today the RADARSAT space program is amongst the most reliable world radar programs and provides end-users with the data of spatial resolution varying from 8 to 100 m within a swath of 50 to 500 km. Independence from the natural illumination (the day time and the season) and from the clouds are the unique advantages of radar imagery as compared to imaging in the optical bands.

In July 2004 a license agreement on the RADARSAT-1 data reception was signed between the R&D Center ScanEx, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the RADARSAT International Inc. (RSI). According to this Agreement the R&D Center ScanEx has become an operator of the RADARSAT data receiving network in Russia and the CIS. In October 2004 the Moscow Data receiving center underwent the obligatory certification.

The Moscow Data receiving center has become the first certified center in Russia and the CIS receiving the RADARSAT data. This Center has been included into the international network of the receiving centers and got a right to distribute the RADARSAT-1 data of various processing levels on a commercial basis.

The Center is jointly owned by the R&D Center ScanEx and the "Aerocosmos" Company. The Center is based on the universal receiving station UniScan™ developed and manufactured by the R&D Center ScanEx.

The R&D Center ScanEx takes orders for near real-time radar survey. The orders are fulfilled with almost 100% probability regardless of cloudiness, time of the day or the season. In emergency you may place an order at least 29 hours prior to imaging. The data is delivered to the user via electronic communications channels within several hours after the data reception.
